Any thoughts on the Visual Sound Dual Delay? I have watched the demos and am torn. I would like some real world thoughts before I pull the trigger.

Visual Sound Dual Delaymexidev May 31st, 2012, 03:47 PM Any thoughts on the Visual Sound Dual Delay? I have watched the demos and am torn. I would like some real world thoughts before I pull the trigger. Kestrel May 31st, 2012, 11:03 PM I have one. Actually thinking of selling or trading it. It's big, but then again it's essentially 2 delay pedals in one enclosure. What I like about it is that it's really easy to use. Tap tempo is also bonehead easy to use and can be set with just two taps. Modulation sounds nice and you can use just one side of the delay or both delays at once, plus you can sync both delays with the tap tempo. Also, you can set your delay times manually or by tap tempo. It's a digital pedal, but the repeats are on the warm side. Sounds nice, actually, but it's not without it's faults. For starters, it would have been nice to have blinking LED's to reference the tempo. The 'tone' control knobs are tiny and you really can't tell where your tone setting is at. It's designed to lay at an angle. Not a big issue if you lay the pedal on the floor, but it would have been better had the enclosure been made to lay flat on pedalboards. It's relatively large. Unless you previously used a Line 6 DL4, the DTD's large size takes some getting used to. It's not a bad sounding pedal, but to be honest I find it kind of plain and uninspiring. There are more feature filled delay pedals on the market in more or less the same price range as the Visual Sound DTD and they don't necessarily take up as much space on your pedalboard. If you don't mind it's large size and you like cascading one delay into another and want something with no presets, memory banks or reverse delay modes, then this is one delay pedal to consider. |
