I'm ordering a Whiteside spiral upcut flush trim bit to use with my homebuilt router table. I do my routing in the garage with the overhead door open, and with my straight flute bits, I just have a strong fan set to blow the dust off my table and out the door. I need to better control my dust, so I'm thinking about rigging my shop vac's extra hose to the table.
It's my understanding that the spiral upcut bit will feed the debris down, towards the router - is this correct? If so, should I rig my shop vac hose under the table next to the router to suck up the debris, or suspended over the top of the table, to try to suck it up? I can't imagine that being the best solution, but I figured it's better to ask just in case the answer is counter intuitive.
Thanks!
