Sound Help

Hello everyone this could be a really simple answer but I need some help. I want to play a fully acoustic Martin DM when I play guitar at my church, but since its not electric acoustic I need to use a sound hole pickup. It's a passive Dean Markly sound hole 'bucker and works fine in amps at home. Heres the problem: at my church the guitar runs into a direct box than directly to the sound board. Last time I played I tryed to use my Martin with the sound hole pickup and it didn't work. I have no idea what the problem is and I desperately need help because the other available guitar is a super cheep Chinese import. Thanks ahead of time for you help.

If you've tested your guitar+pickup through a standalone amp since that failure, and it still works, the problem is obviously not in your equipment. Either the DI or cable.

DIs are all over the place in quality/expense. Hard to destroy, really, but it's possible. If it's an active (vs passive) DI, it needs power, and it could just have had a dead battery, or phantom power switch off at the board. Or, my bet would be a cable/plug/jack problem.

My suggestion, buy your own preamp+DI specifically for an acoustic guitar, like this:

Get a good (mic/XLR) cable, if that's an iffy area at your church. Pack your own stuff and make sure it works.
