It's a real thrill to play a really old guitar, older than me. Especially this one that has the headstock of the mid sixties Casinos that the likes of Paul McCartney, Dave Davies and Keith Richards played.
It looked and felt really old though was in great condition. There was a slight split in the surface layer of ply and some of general cosmetic wear.
It sounded amazing, especially neck and middle positions, which sounded rich, complex and refined. The treble had a much brighter sound than my MIC Casino.
Still grinning, though no way I can afford the £2999 asking price.

I wanted the shop guy to to think I was a serious player so he'd let me play it for an hour our so. I tried 'paperback writer' and 'get back', but with loads of bum notes  so resorted to tasteful twiddling.

Know what you mean, price of a small car
I wish epiphone did a replica of this model, they do the 61, but it's not like the 1965 clean headstock version that's 'the' guitar of the British invasion bands.

Forsyths on Deansgate. The guy running the shop was really helpful, he even rang the seller up for me to answer some questions.

Me too... Gary Clark Jr. (Love that kid) is also a HUGE fan and proponent of the Casino so I'm kinda hoping that with them back "in the spotlight" maybe Epiphone will pull their heads out and start making some RI's for us guys too cheap/poor to afford a true vintage model.
Cheers
