I am upgrading the saddle and bridge pins on my Takamine Dreadnought and was wondering which material is best? I've done research and most people point towards either Bone or Tusq.Which material do you all recomend?

I mean what material is best for improving tone?

I replaced the bridge pins in my Tak with rosewood pins, mostly to match the rosewood fretboard and bridge. I didn't notice any appreciable difference in the tone. I don't think you will either, whatever material you choose.

I replaced mine with the tusq pins, and i agree that there really wasnt much of a difference in tone from the plastic ones that came on it. But they look pretty cool.

I had a lam-top Takamine, a "lawsuit" F-349, and I put Tusq pins on it. I thought it was louder afterward, but maybe I only thought that. I'd go with bone, ivory, ebony, or Tusq, and choose the pins with fit and appearance first in mind. I really don't know if pins will improve your sound or not, but they really can look sharp.

What model Takamine? How about a picture, when you get the new pins?
