I was watching a demo online, and reading some reviews. Seems like a fantastic value guitar. Does anyone have one/anyone played one and have any advice?
My pal is jonesing for one. Wouldn't mind one myself.

I noticed the word Burns in the forum list and just had to take a look.
When I was a kid doing an apprenticeship as a Radio/TV Technician, my boss went on holidays to England and I asked him if he had some time to see how much he could buy me a Burns amp for while over there. I had only ever seen one before and that was owned my a guy called "Tex" who played rhythm in the "Denver Men" the backing group for Digger Revell.( Digger Revell & the Denver Men) We went backstage at one of their concerts when they toured through our area, and Tex had an Aunt living in our town and he was quite friendly to us kids.
Unbeknown to me, my boss had bought this amp for me and had it shipped to Aussie and I think it cost about 200 pounds in those days a veritable king's ransom to me, but when it came it was the most beautiful amp I'd ever had. It used to pick up the police 2-way radio which was helpful to us as we were constantly getting "visits" from the cops to turn us down because we were blocking the audio from the picture theatre, and the cop shop was just across the street from the union hall where we played.
We always knew in advance thanks to the Burns Orbit 3 amp because it picked up the duty sarge radioing a car to come and shut us up as the theatre manager had rung them complaining again.
I wish I had it now going by the price in the link attached. I think Tex and I had the only two in Aussie as he bought his while on tour over there.

I played a Burns Cobra about a year ago...it was very well-made, had a great neck and an exceptionally bright, glassy tone...unbelievably good value, I plan to get one at some point. The white one looks good to, as does the red.
The tone is great for twangy, surfy 50s and 60s stuff and also for modern indie sounds. It would be perfect for Dick Dale stuff.

My mate has tried it out a few times now and is just waiting till he has the cash - he loves it. And at about £200 it seems fantastic value.
