This is the most beautiful thing i've heard in weeks. She's such a talented young woman. Here's her Wiki entry for some background.

You have good taste! Yeah, she is great. There are some YouTubes of her playing on Later With Jools Holland, which show her at her best.

Post 'em up Mindlobster. She's new to me-anything you got will be listened too.

I'm thinking there's a lot of Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush fans here. This should be right up their alley.

I love Joanna. Seen her three times and she is without question the most fantastically wonderful live act I've ever seen.

Yeah she's nice. I got her 1st album when it came out, I don't remember when, but it's good stuff. Very unique.

Her vocal style seems to be off putting for some, but I think she's great.

I love this song, the lyrics are wonderful:

t2qhqDN-oJQ

"This is an old song, these are old blues
And this is not my tune, but it's mine to use"

You know, the timbre of her voice was the thing i liked the least. What knocked me out was her sense of composition, her classically derived melodies and her lyrics. And it's interesting that her physician parents wouldn't let her watch TV or listen to the radio while she was growing up.

But her voice is growing on me.

Great song J-man....

And all that we built
And all that we breathed
And all that we spilt
Or pulled up like weeds
Is piled up in back
And it burns irrevocably
