What to use for bass pickups?

I just recently picked up a cheaper Ibanez gr200 to mess around with since im a guitar player. Well needless to say the pickuups are not earth shattering to me,so i decided to change them out. I replaced the pbass style pickup out for a old Vantage epoxy sealed pickup and swapped out the jbass style pickup with a mexican fender pickup. Just plugged it in to see if everything was working and the pickups are louder, smoother, and a little punchier. I was wondering what pickups i could use if i dont decide to change them out again? Im looking for a thicker bottom end. Any recomendations?

There are a lot of great P-Bass style pickups out there, including the ones made by Fender.

Ive talked to a couple of people that say the fender '62 p bass pickups sound great across the board so i might check into them a little more. Tanks for the help

I'm late to the dance but I can give a big thumbs up for the Fender '62s.

I recently got a Yamaha RBX170, which is cheap but well made, very well made.

But it had ceramic P/J pickups.

Now I like the extra dynamics (loud to soft) of alnico, so ordered up a pair of Toneriders. I'm still waiting for the P but the Tonerider Jazz Plus bridge has a lot going for it, well made, hotter wind - powerful output (has to be to match up with a P), classic "early 60s" J neck sound.

I have a guitar with Tonerider humbuckers, cheap but knocks the socks off Classic57, and the J+ bass pickup lives up to expectations.
