1961 GRETSCH Just popped up on CL,Worth it?

I don't know much about GRETSCH , but its older than i am :razz: Does this look like it would be worth checkin out? looks to be about two hours from me.

It's pretty beat and needs a ton of work. Did you notice that the headstock veneer is broken off in one spot. I'd pass at that price.

Yeah i noticed that :neutral:, who knows what else is wrong. It just ust looked like it might be a nice sounding guitar fixed up. I had a old 1961 Harmony with a single neck pickup a while back that sounded pretty sweet. Thanks

I 'm 59 years old by the way.So I said ,hell yeah I do.I fact I used to love checking out the old stuff there.Then I said to him, how about Goldie libro's (downtown New haven) I think they closed many ,many years ago.I think he was just a child then.I liked Bankos much better. Have you ever been to either?

It is a low end student model, I believe and pretty beat up. I would not pay $500 for it, myself.
