Does anyone know of plastic guitars that are currently in production? I love the tones of Jack White's Montgomery Airline, but the reissues are wood. Are Danelectro's plastic?

dunno, but guitars made of other-than-wood must be on the way, it just seems the way of it now. prolly have not been put forward any more than they have because of the extremely conservative mind-set of guitarists toward their equipment.

and why not be conservative ? look what we've got at our disposal: if you've got a tele and some money you can get every sound that anybody from Jimmy Bryant and Don Rich made, to the edge and bill frissell. who needs plastic ?

Danelectros have always been made with poplar or pine frames, with fronts and backs of masonite, edged with vinyl . As far as I know the new ones are as well.

Check out http://www.guitarkitsusa.com/

They sell fiberglass bodies, like the original airlines. You pick the neck and p/u's you want.
