Since the Winners Announcement thread is closed to posting use this thread to leave your congratulations and comments for the winners and about this year's Challenge.

Congratulations to the WINNERS, of course, but congratulations to all that participated. We're looking forward to the 2013 Challenge -- which is sure to be even more difficult than this years.

Thanks All,

Man, you just can't argue with those results.

Phil, Oi, Scatter - you guys did some absolutely incredible work this year. A big congratulations to you 3. The accolades are well deserved!

**EDIT** Like a bonehead, I didn't even congratulate our Beginner Category winners . You guys were really inspiring doing what you did. Having never built a guitar before, you jumped into the deep end and turned out some beautiful and great-playing guitars. Indeed, congratulations and attaboys are in order!

Incredibly impressive stuff this year. Kwerk made perhaps the most unique guitar I have ever seen.

There were some incredible guitars this year and I have to admit I had a hard time voting. Congrats to the beginners, who all fashioned excellent first guitars or basses.

Igork's fastest build still has me  because that is one fine Tele.

Well, I suppose a tie for 24th place isn't that bad considering it's my first complete build.

Congrats to the winners. Here's to looking forward to even harder build "challenges" to come!

I already posted my congratulations in each of the winner's build threads, so I'll use this thread to congratulate all the other contestants. That has got to be the finest bunch of instruments I have ever seen in one place. So many inovative ideas and so much precise craftmanship. I was honored to be a part of it, and I'm looking forward to doing it again next year. Thanks again to Paul and TDPRI.

Remember - If you steal an idea from one person it's plagerism - if you steal ideas from a hundred people it's research

Well done all!

Here's to seeing you all in next year's competition; that is as long as you are not pickup winding averse. Maybe Paul has a few other curves to throw in as well. Maybe a non-wood, cast body requirement or....... Can't wait!

Anyway, one thing that I would like to see as a requirement next year is that the builders play their own guitars and to see their faces and hear their voices giving descriptions of their creations prior to playing. I don't like the guitar/ crotch shots with the player's heads cut off. Weird  If Miss Peyton can do it, so can you!

I don't play bass, and never pay them much attention - but I think I loved your build most of all - think you would have given the leaders something to think about if you weren't in the beginners category. Beautiful guitar.

Picking only 3 favourites out of that lot was impossible.

I'm fairly new to this forum, but checking out those builds has been such a pleasure. Talk about inspiring.

I am totally inspired to try my hand at this challenge in the next year or two. I was just absolutely floored by the works of art coming out of this thing. I think I was especially blown away by the quality of the "Beginners" category. WoW!

That's not to take anything away from the other builds in the challenge. Just stellar work and innovative ideas all around. Not everything was my cup of tea, but I feel like I learned from every one of them.

Nothing but respect for all you guys that build something so wonderful from nothing more than wood and wire (and whatever else some of you guys find laying around!).

Congratulations to all of you...not just the winners (but a special tip of the hat to the winners, for sure).

hemingway - Thank you. To be honest, I didn't see much difference in all 6 of the biginner builds. I thought they were all awesome and I was proud to be a part of it. I have no illusions of competing with the big boys, but I'm going to do it next year anyway (if I can). This was just way too much fun!

A big congrats to Igork, Nosmo, MMoncur, Gearhead1972, Kwerk, Oigun and Scatter Lee!!

Kwerk's effort in this challenge (as well as the last year) is a great example of battling back from adversity and overcoming doubts! More then an awesome guitar and very creative build it was a great achievement to see unfold from some significant difficulties.

I have something very special that is only for Allthesound and Barncaster who tied with me at 21st - as everyone knows 21st is special. Here you guys go - just take this to Harbor Freight and ask for your "Swivel caster" - they will have it ready to go for you - all the set up is done.

BTW, I told 'em you would give them $11.99 on the way out the door - I was a little short when I set this up

Congratulations to all the winners! Congratulations also to all the owners of new guitars created by your own hands. There may be winners in this, but I just don't see any losers!

Such impressive work in both the main challenge and beginners challenge!

I hope everyone enjoyed the challenge as much as I did, and I hope you will all join me in thanking Paul Green, Ryden, and anyone else who had a hand in organizing and coordinating this challenge.

What can I say? The winning builds were amazing as were quite a few that didn't win. There were guitars in this challenge that rival the best any music store has to offer. My hats off to all the winners. To win in a talent pool like the one around here at the TDPRI is quite the accomplishment. Also a big thanks to everyone that works so hard to put this thing together and pull it off. Not just during the challenge but year round you supply a place that is entertaining and drives me to continue pushing to get better at this craft we all love.

I am very honored to be in this group, I'm humbled by the talent and creativity I've seen in these challenges. Thanks to those that have encouraged me either by your vote or PMs or in the thread.

On your build, I thought the integrated neck/body and neck stabilization of your build was great to see - gave me some ideas, and I love the top too! This view is awesome!

http://allthesound.com/2012/265.jpg

I'm a fan!! I tell ya, 21st is the place to be!!

On my build(s) - I'm always trying progressive stuff and not everyone is into the direction all of that takes, but that's what I am interested in and these challenges have really pushed me to do my best. I've built my best guitar yet, and the ideas I was shooting for worked our pretty well; so I'm overjoyed.

I'm also very happy to see the best of the best get the recognition they deserve!

Thanks Mojo! Someday I would love to try some body contours like yours, maybe a little complex for me currently but man i love the way it looks. I'll start with a carve top on the next which i was too chicken to try on this build. Dude that quilt scared me.:lol:

Edit: I know what you mean about going in a direction not everyone will follow . I guess thats what i like about it most though there is not another like it.

I cant wait to see what you build next I really dig designs that dare to stray from the sandbox.

Thanks everyone for the support and encouragement. I'm humbled by the outcome.

What a year for builds this was. I can't believe the calibre of people here. We are the luckiest forum on the net, by far the best "support network" I've ever been witness to.

Besides, as I said earlier in the year to a fellow compatriot building his first,

I mean, we're making guitars! How freaking cool is that?!

Congrats to all the winners! And there isn't one of these guitars I wouldn't be proud to own or play. There are some real beautiful guitars this year. People's imgination is limitless! Awsome job to everyone who took the time, patience, and talent to show their love for the Tele. Job(s) well done!
