I picked up Traffic's "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" yesterday, I had a copy in the late '70s but gave it one spin and moved on, I guess I was more ready this time around...
I also scored my first ever copy of Dark Side of the Moon, I have heard the radio cuts, but never the whole thing straigt thru...good deal.
Similar experiences?

The Fantastic Expedition of Dillard and Clark (1968)

Amazing early Southern California country rock, always heard about it and didn't own it. Crazy good songwriting!

I've been ripping my vinyl to digital files so I've rediscovered lots of the LP's I grew up with.
My latest is Dwight Yoakam's Guitars, Cadillacs Etc.
Sounds as great as it did in the eighties....

i recently had a few moments of delight in Bad Company's 1st album. all these years later, it's hard to beat for good time boogie-liciousness.

Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison - will still be played 100 years from now.

(also I think all the way thru is the preferred way to listen to Dark Side of the Moon, for me anyway)

Been rocking the remastered Exile On Main Street in the car all week. Never gets old. And given events surrounding the album, it's amazing that it ever got made and is as good as it is.

Reacquainted myself with Neil Young's Tonight's The Night. It's a reliable record. Works every time.

Here he is with the Broadcaster he was using at this time:

Sneaking Sally Through The Alley; Robert Palmers debut album.

Robert, the Meters, Lowell George - what more could you want?

Supertramp's 1980 live album "Paris". Great band playing everything themselves, just before the advent of sequencers and MIDI.

Fantastic record.

I only recently bought The Band's namesake album. (Fortunately, before Levon Helm passed away.) Sure enough, it's great. No idea why I passed on it for so long.

I've been on a Dylan kick lately, then something happened today. I was in the local ValueVillage scrounging up a few LP's and I nabbed the three album set of George Harrison's All Things Must Pass. When I opened it up, not only did it contain the Harrison LP's, it also contained the 3 LP set from the '71 "The Concert for Bangla Desh" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Concert_for_Bangladesh

AND on that is a whole side of the live set Dylan did - Serendipity is such a wonderful thing

Blue - Joni Mitchell

Downloaded it for £2.99 (not sure what that is in dollars but it's cheap) bargain of the century.

What I didn't really appreciate back in the day but I'm really loving this time round is the appalachian dulcimer on a number of tracks - a beautiful sounding instrument.

Yes to Exile and Television mentioned up thread, but this week I got a landmark album, to 're-investigate', Highway 61 Revisited, after hearing 'Ballad Of A Thin Man' on FM car radio. What I found on Wiki was that 'Desolation Row' was recorded on Aug 4 1965. And what was on the charts that summer? Beatles. Byrds covering Bob. Bonny & Cher. Roger Miller. http://www.number-ones.co.uk/1965-number-ones.html

I think that with this album, Bob was way out on his own. Its an incredible album, and there were 3 copies in the shop I got it from, on the other side of the world, 47 years after its release.

I have the original release on record, but my wife bought me the re-release on 180 vinyl. As overplayed as some of it is, it really has some inspired moments and is a great "sit down and listen to the whole thing" album.
