jacksontele May 24th, 2012, 07:05 AM Hi everyone, I recently purchased a MIM Telecaster. I quite like the sound of it but the bridge pickup could be abit hotter. I am looking at a Seymour Duncan "Lil 59 Tele' Pickup for the bridge position.
I play mostly rock, ACDC, Guns N Roses,Black Sabbath, Clapton etc but i tend to sometimes play other things.Has anyone tried this pickup?
What does it sound like and what type of music do you play through it?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks In Advance
guitarzan13 May 24th, 2012, 07:31 AM Welcome!! I personally use that pickup and love it. I play everything from Christian rock to old school Rock. It will work VERY well for all that you mentioned.

Clifton C May 24th, 2012, 02:22 PM I put a Little '59 in the bridge of my '68 Paisley reissue. I'd had a Gibson mini-humbucker in the neck position for years, and loved it. But the bridge pickup and using both pickups together sounded weak to me, so I looked around for a hotter pickup to drop into the bridge.
I like the sound of it a lot. I know that the ads for the Little '59 say that it delivers a "warm smooth tone, reminiscent of an old '59 Patent Applied For humbucker mixed together with a healthy dose of beefed-up twang." Well, I'm not so sure about the twang part, but it's very much a blues and blues rock sound--not much Tele twang left. But that's okay. I've found that it's really complimented the sound of the mini-humbucker quite nicely, bringing out a nice round tone, and the two pickups together sound great now, too. So for me, at least, it's been a nice purchase. I love how it sounds with a little overdrive or fuzz. It's now a completely different guitar, at least sound-wise.

hoodtube12 May 24th, 2012, 02:39 PM I have a Little 59 in my Tele's bridge. It does clean well, but comes alive when overdriven. IMO it's very versatile, and the adjustability of the pole pieces makes it rather easy to dial in the sound you want. I'd suggest a humbucker/noiseless pickup for the neck pup to round it out.
jacksontele May 24th, 2012, 07:44 PM Hi Everyone, Thanks for the welcomes, it sure is great to have joined.
Thanks for all your input, I will read some other forums about it here but does anyone happen to have a sample of then playing through it?
Thanks In Advance

I already have got my bridge at the hottest point without it being muddy.

63dot May 27th, 2012, 05:06 PM I had a hot rails, on Ibanez strat type, and it's a hot pickup with the sounds of a full humbucker, only with a reduced low end. Mids of the hot rails, and slightly weaker, yet still ceramic magnet, '59s and JBs are great for getting a meatier solo. Another option which works is the Tube Screamer.
