Dave/ May 21st, 2012, 08:26 PM So here's the question: unlimited money, can have any pedal/amp ever, including discontinued ones. But you have to live with this set up forever. Give me your perfect set up, limited to 2 guitars, 2 OD/distortion/whatever pedals, 4 other miscellaneous pedals(not including tuner/volume pedals), and 2 amps. This should be fun.
Me: Deluxe tele w/ humbuckers with a coil splitter, some kind of strat. Klon Centaur, Ibanez Vintage tube screamer(maybe..), eventide timefactor, strymon bluesky, moog chorus pedal(don't remember the name), Roger Linn Design Adrenalin. handwired Vox AC30, something made by divided by 13.
Delta63 May 21st, 2012, 09:24 PM ........................--Echoplex--TC nova modulator--Super Reverb
Strat/SG----A/B
........................--VL Giggity---Echoplex----JTM45
What I'm aiming for is only an extra amp and few odd pedals than this so it wasn't very hard to cut it down.
Chiogtr4x May 21st, 2012, 09:48 PM I really do already own my 'dream rig' :
a Strat/Tele and an old Deluxe Reverb. For this amp I'll add my mod MXR Classic Distortion (really an OD), my GFS Brownie (Rat clone) and my DD-3 and I'm happy. You could take away the pedals and I'm still happy:wink:!
bigmuff113 May 21st, 2012, 10:10 PM Fender J Mascis Jazzmaster and My custom Jazzmaster. A Tym Guitars Fuzz munchkin and a Triangle Big Muff. A Vox Union Jack Wah, MXR Blue Box, Dunlop Rotovibe and a Deluxe Memory Boy. For amps I would have an orange cream sickle Marshall JCM 900(yes the 900) with 2 purple 1960 cabs and a red sparkle Peavey Classic 20 with a speaker out and a matching 810 amp cabinet
bigmuff113 May 21st, 2012, 10:12 PM And my dream jazzmaster is a red sparkle in the front and orange sparkle on the back with a red sparkle headstock, D Allen Jazzmaster pickups and locking tuners and strap locks. With a mastery bridge and the traditional JM vibrato and wiring
Mr. Manager May 21st, 2012, 11:00 PM Nice to see a thread devoted to one of my favorite pastimes.
I'm almost there on my dream rig. But still have some areas to expand.
My guitars would be my '09 American Deluxe Tele and a Jazzmaster (maybe a Bell Jazzblaster).
Pedals would be my Wampler Ego, a low gain OD like a Timmy or Klon(e), my trusty OCD, a JHS Panther (someday!), my Supa-trem, and a Stereo Wet Reverb.
I don't have my dream amps pegged yet, but something along the lines of a Morgan Dual 40 and an Orange Rockerverb 50 (because I've always wanted one). Running through a Morgan cab and an Avatar for the Orange.
artdecade May 22nd, 2012, 09:39 AM AC30, a treble booster, and a 60s Strat.
See: Gallagher, Rory
Or, substitute the Strat for a Red Special clone.
See: May, Brian
Either way, I'm happy.
Wrong-Note Rod May 22nd, 2012, 09:46 AM Anything that sounds fantastic and somebody else will transport, set up and tear down for me.
WireLine May 22nd, 2012, 10:03 AM Live work:
My current custom built tele style --> DynaComp --> original TS808* --> Phase 90 --> Voodoo Trem --> Boss DM2* --> MXR Stereo Chorus --(all remote racked) --> pair of BF Deluxes*
(current rig, except as noted with *)
Studio Rig
Whatever the gig calls for
Wrong Note Rod got a good handle on it!

Original NoCaster
Boss OD-3 (Yup)
Tube Screamer Variant (Like maybe a TS808)
Roland Space Echo
MXR Bass Compressor
Teleworshipkid May 22nd, 2012, 10:11 AM Guitars: FCS La Cabronita Especial (surf green, double bound, coil splits on S-1 switch), FCS Stratomaster (lake placid blue metallic)
Effects: Fulltone Fulldrive 2 MOSFET -> Radial Tonebone Hot British Distortion -> Thru-Tone Ernie Ball Volume Pedal with tuner out to T.C. Electronic Polytune -> Strymon Timeline with DMC-6 -> Strymon Lex -> Strymon blueSky -> Strymon Flint (All on a black Brady Cases pedalboard, wired up with Lava Cables, Powered by a CIOKS DC10, and run through a Buzz Electronics Programmable Octo Looper)
Amps: Morgan 30/800 (white with black trim), Morgan SW50 (white with black trim)
Jagg76 May 22nd, 2012, 10:13 AM I would love to have Doug Seven's tone in the instrumental Burp Rag (pre Brad Paisley setup). I'm in the ballpark while recording but it sounds mediocre in live situations.

musicmatty May 22nd, 2012, 11:58 AM For me, the perfect setup is having the simplicity of a multi effects pedal rather than several boxes to stomp and having to change the parameters of each box for specific tunes. It's so nice to be able to click one button for a preset and have all my desired effects adjusted with the correct speed..intensity.. EQ..and depth that can vary with each effect for different tunes.
An example of me just clicking a footswitch bottom for a tune medley
