noob question but neck radius.... whats the difference?

I've been playing for a while but I'm just recently getting into the technical aspect of the guitar. I know its probably a stupid qhestion but what are the differences in neck radius and what is it all about? Again sorry about the probably stupid question.

Fret size, fret condition/finish and nut width probably have more effect on "playability/preference than radius.

Thank you. So if I were to build a tele set up strictly for slide guitar then I would want a flatter radius neck?

If it were strictly for slide, then that would sound right, but you could compensate by adjusting saddle height to flatten the radius of the strings; afterall, slide players were arouind before the modern radii.

In short - ask a slide player - I ain't one in all seriousness............ :wink:

I play a lot of slide but also combine slide and freted notes. I prefer medium high action and 9,5 radie
