I am looking for a set of strat sized humbuckers for a Godin Artisan TC. The body is basswood with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard. Both pickups are strat sized.

Some of the pickups I have considered are:

Seymour Duncan:

- Bridge: JB or Lil 59; Neck: Lil 59

Dimarzio:

- Bridge: Tone Zone or Pro Track; Neck: Pro track

I am open to other suggestions. After watching Jeff Beck play his HH tele on cause we've ended as lovers well I am inspired. I know those are full sized buckers but looking to get close. Also wondering of they split well or should I do something different with the push/pull tone pot?

1/2 a HB is 1/2 a good idea, especially w micro HBs, IMO. I'd do a outter coil series combo w neck thru bridge (lower Z thru higher Z, G-N-B-Hot).With Bass wood any of the Duncans should sound good, w the '59 sounding trad) I don't like DiM s in general and have not heard those listed. Becks amazing, I'm there every tour.

59er gets the sort of warmish traditional humbucker sound. Good pickup if you want to RAWK. Doesnt clean up well.

Humm would like some nice warm cleans too...

I agree, not for clean so much. Nor the JB. The ceramic magnet and the high wind coil w super thin wire recreates driven tones to high distortion well, but you need a specifically designed ceramic or AlNiCo p/up for clean.
