Pot values

Thinking of putting an Irongear Blues Engine HB in the neck of my Tele (CV50).
Because the body is pine and neck maple, do you think I could get away with leaving the 250k pots and the brighter woods would compensate for lack of 500k pots. Or do you think it may sound muddy.
I know I can try and see for myself, but if anyone knows then I can just buy everything I need in one order.

You could just try it, always easy to change the pot after. The 500 could make the bridge you have too harsh, bright.

and the wood has nothing to do with it.

Just change the Volume if you do.
