Tele Pickup in a strat bridge position [Archive]

I know several of you guys have tried this and some of the consensus is that you need the steel plate surrounding the pup to get the proper tele tone.
Well, now Glendale and Taipan Tone makes bridge plates and you can always cut down a steel bridge plate.
So who has tried a Tele bridge pup with a steel surrounding plate on a strat with vintage trem?
