Hi,
On a project body I have the neck pocket measures 3" in length and 2 and something across. Will a Fender neck fit these specs? Thanks
edit, trying to remeasure

close, u may need to taper your neck pocket from that to 2 3/16 at the heel. lay yer new neck on the body trace the lay over in pencil. Make sure you are centered... maybe use a little dremel sanding drum to open her up a hair.....i think/.

Ah ok, my neighbor is a maintence man and just measured. Its 2 1/8th. The Fender neck will be a fit, with just a tiny, tiny adjustment in width. Thank you for the replies.

Necks are usually 2 & 3/16" wide at the heel.

Where are you measuring the 2-1/8" across? At the opening is one thing, at the base or heel of the neck is another. The heel of the neck has the same taper as the rest of it, from 2-3/16ths at the heel down to 1-11/16ths at the nut. What you may not have noticed is that this taper continues in a straight line, the heel part is not parallel. Because of this, when you test-fit a neck you need to drop it down into the pocket from the top; you can't slide it in lengthwise.

And 5/8 inch deep. My warmoth neck just arrived.
Warmoth makes it's necks to be spot on with Fender bodies but they have a list
of Fender Bodies that are not compatable!!
