Prefered lubricant

My Hipshot triple bender is getting a little squeaky and I was wondering what everyone else prefers as a lubricant. I don't want to use anything like wd40. I usually use something like 3in1 oil for this sort of stuff but would like to use a spray. I am thinking of trying what I use on my guns... "RemOil". Anybody ever try that?

I like white lithium grease. U can get it about anywhere. Aerosol with a small tube for precise placement.

I use the Needle Tip Precision Lubricator from Radio Shack:

Try some silicone grease in a tube, you can get it from McMaster-Carr. It's the slickest stuff I've ever encountered.

I've started using Finish Line Ceramic Wax. By the 2nd application I was sold.

http://www.finishlineusa.com/products/ceramic_wax_lube.htm

Hey, it's got "nano-sized platelets of ceramic boron nitride and micron particles of fluoropolymer". It's supposed to work better with more applications. It's for bicycle chains.

I'll still keep a pencil in the guitar case as that is easy enough to do.

Dry Teflon (PTFE).

There are several brands, including "Teflon" from DuPont. TriFlow makes two - one dry, one with mineral oil.

Avoid the oil types. Avoid ALL oils. They eventually gum up and break down - the dry stuff works longer and leaves zero residue.

WD40 should never be closer to a guitar than the garage. It'll wreck both mechanical and electrical components.

This discussion is one that comes up often on the Pedals Steel Forum, where many of the top players have moved to dry Teflon lube for their steels; most double on 6-string and use it on nuts, saddles, b-benders, tremolos.

I don't know anyone who has tried the dry Teflon stuff for a few months who has switched back to oils of any kind.

I'm gonna give that a shot. The Remoil just hasn't done the job.

Well, Scruggs liked nose grease. But it might be hard to apply.

I'm with Silverface.....for years, I have been using Tri-Flow in very sparing amounts on the pivot points and bridge of my Telecaster and Acoustic B-benders:
