Scored this old P12R, supposedly from 1956, but don't know how many ohms it is. Can you tell from the markings?

All P12R's that I have seen have been 8 ohm speakers. IF you have a multimeter, read the resitance across the tabs. IT will read close to 6.3ohms if it is an 8 ohm speaker. IT is dated the 33rd week of 1956.

Cool Speaker! I can't tell from makings. If you have a voltage meter, set it to Ohms, place a lead on each speaker contact. 2 to 5 = 4 Ohms. 6 to 8= 8 Ohms.

I'm hoping It's 8 ohms so I can put it in my 5E3 build. I scored it off eBay for $70! I'll try getting the readings when I get home.

Yay! The speaker measured 7.3 ohms at the contacts!
