Newbie Build question

G'day Learned Gents/Ladies.
Starting out on my first Tele build so thought i would come to the source for advice.
Looking through the archives is a bit daunting but I'll be happy if I come out with something vaguely looking like a Tele that makes a noise.
The reason for the build was an old tele body and neck (no hardware) that i came across in an Op shop (Aussie version of a good will shop). So for the princely sum of 20 bucks it came home with me.
What I'm trying to figure out is what style of tele neck i have as that will influence pick up choice etc down the track.
As there are no serial # i can't shoot a email off to Warmoth asking them.
So if anyone has any pointers on what to look for where to measure etc would be very grateful.
The project is going to take a while as I'm not the speediest bloke in the garage but hope to post progress pics as I go to keep me motivated.
Cheers
Brett.

I would love to help you but I'm a little confused. How does the neck influence your choice of pickups?

Does the neck fit well in the body? If the neck is a good fit, and it is straight, you should be able to use whatever hardware you like.

If you need to know the scale length, measure from the nut to the 12th fret and double that. That is where you will mount the bridge. If you posted more pictures it may help identify the neck.

Hi thx for the advice re: Scale length.
It does seem to be a good fit, no slop that I can notice when i give it a hard 'wiggle'.
Regards P/U choices (I haven't started looking into that though would like to fly the Aussie flag and perhaps go with Kinmans.) But getting back to your question if it's a vintage profile neck then I'm thinking maybe vintage style p/u, have a go at relicing it, vintage style bridge/knobs etc. If it's a standard tele profile then, I don't know something in the way of more modern hardware too match (as you can see I'm a bit clueless at the moment and just weighing up options :-). I've always wanted a 'blackguard' replica but obviously can't use this neck. However if i get the bug then that's something for down the track.
Cheers and appreciate it.
Brett.

It's a 10-16" "compound radius." Basically the fretboard is like a cone instead of a cylinder.

Whoops
Forgot to attach a few more pics.
Apologies for the poor quality.
Difficult business trying to get a shot of the neck.

10" - 16". Thanks for that.
Looking at the Warmoth site that means the fretboard gets flatter as you progress down the neck? (sorry this must seem very basic to most of you blokes). That 1.638 # on the heel, is that a ratio that lets you know that this is a compund radius neck?
I also noticed that all the new Warmoth necks have the "licensed by Fender" stamp next to the logo. Was there an @ year that they changed over to this?
Cheers.

1.638 seems to me like the width of the neck at the nut, in inches.

The compound radius means it gets rounder as it goes out toward the headstock.

Not a vintage styled neck for sure! But cool nonetheless and should be awesome!
