Urgent!: Reliability of the Boss RC20?

The local pawn shop has an RC20 they will sell me for $175, and I'm looking for a looper with a great deep bag of tricks for doing solo acoustic stuff. I assumed, from pedalboards I've seen, that the RC 20 is the way to go for me. I need to pick something up tomorrow, and if it isn't the RC20 it will be one of the smaller boss pedals.

If I try out the RC 20 to check if it works, can I just be sure that it will be a good buy? I know I can usually trust Boss products almost blindly. I need to get a looper tomorrow, so please flood me with advice!

The RC20XL is great. I personally haven't had any problems with mine.

That price seems pretty high though. I got mine used from GC last year for I think, $100? Maybe $120?

If you can afford to wait a week, check out GC's used section online.

Needing a looper tomorrow is dangerous. Those things take a ton of practice if you wanna do live work.

I've got an Akai headrush E2. Had it for years and I'm still not ready to take that show on the road.

Yeah that has popped into my head. I may not actually use it yet, but I do have time to prepare over the next week and really dedicate learning the RC 20. I went ahead and ordered from guitar center. 150 used, 20$ overnight shipping and 20$ one year warranty. Came out to $200, close to the price of the pawn shop plus tax.
