pickguard cutout size for Firebird pup

I've got a Gibson Firebird pickup that I plan to mount in the neck position of a tele I'm building.

I'm wondering how close the pickguard cutout sizes for soapbar P-90s or mini-hums are to the Firebird's. Anybody know?

Thanks!

Is not the Firebird PU a mini HB?

Not exactly the answer you're looking for, but I installed a Lollar Firebird in a pickguard routed for a standard humbucker. I used a mounting ring and it looks sharp and covers the route completely. And, additionally, it's a frickin' phenomenal pickup. Plays great with my SD Jerry Donahue bridge pup. What are you running in the bridge?

That pickup ring is exactly what I'm looking for - I just didn't think they existed so I didn't ask. Where did you get it?

I'm actually building my first partscaster and am going to put a Rio Grande Bastard P90 in the bridge. In my traditionally voiced tele I use the middle position alot, but in the partscaster I'm going to have a two position switch - bridge or neck; no subtle stuff, just slam it this way and that. BTW the Firebird I have right now is a genuine beat up old Gibson. If my budget expands in the future I would consider a Lollar.

The pickup cut out itself for a Firebird mini is the same for any mini. That is to say they are their own size. A P 90 route in a pickguard will be too big if you want to mount it directly to the guard Say something like:

Wow - all great info. I already have a p/g with a humbucker cutout and at some point I'm looking at a p/g with the Firebird cutout like you're showing. On a side note, I've been considering finishing my tele in something similar to yours. It's cool to actually see it.

I'm building a 12 string right now using mini's and I found mine on ebay for lightly over $5.00 for a set plus shipping.

I got my mounting ring direct from Lollar when I ordered the pickup, I think it was $7 or so.
