Couple questions:
1.
Would like to figure out how I could inspect each one of these neck shapes so that I can determine which one I prefer. Anyone know how I could do that? Where I would have to go? (I'm in SoCal).
2.
How would you describe the difference between each of these shapes?
3.
What shape neck did Fender put on the original early 50's Telecaster?
4.
I have a Fender 50's reissue MIJ Tele. Don't know what the neck shape is. I'm assuming a C shape. Is that what it is supposed to be?

C's are really common and most guitar stores that have Fender will have plenty.
Find a 51 Nocaster reissue somewhere and that will have a U.
Vs are most common on custom shop strats, the "10/56" shape is a V. The Clapton has a V too, there is a further difference between "hard V" and "soft V" the soft being a little more rounded.
Find a Custom Shop dealer and check their website for what they have in stock and then go check them out. The closest one I know of to you is Wild West in Riverside. http://wildwestguitars.com/Fender/prod_14_standard.html

I prefer the "D" baseball bat profile.
"V" neck is a good alernative as my thumb seems happy on that fat ridge on the back.
"C" tends to be a lot thinner, and my fat hands dont like it.

I read that the SRV and Eric Johnson model Strats have 12" radius necks. Just what I want for my Tele. Can you put a Strat neck on a Tele?

Is the D shape that big fat neck that was on the early Teles?
Apparently the '51 Nocaster has a U?
What's the difference between a D and a U? Which is fatter?
I'm a skinny dude (5' 11", 130 lbs). I have thin bones. Long skinny fingers. I don't have huge hands. I can stretch a span of 11 keys on the piano. My hand dimension is from bottom of palm to tip of middle finger (8"), my middle finger is 3.5" long.
I know that I have to find out what neck size feels right for me BUT... based on my hand dimensions what would you guess would be the neck shape I'd like... a D or a U?

My hands are fatter than yours but about the same lengths. I'll answer as best as I can considering that one tiny piece of information. I'm a lazy player, so my thumb rarely sits on the back of the neck like it's supposed to, with that being said I prefer as much wood on the neck as I can get. I haven't started working on my own Tele project yet (I'm still creeping here) but when I do, I have pretty much made up my mind to get the "Boatneck" as Warmoth calls it with a 1 7/8" nut width. I want the wider nut because my fingers are giant sausages. Anyway, remember that playing is more about how you play than anything else. Hope this helps.
