I know these pickups are supposed to be just junk from China but I was looking for a quick cheap replacement bridge pickup for my circa 2005 American Standard Tele. I have a genuine vintage 1954 tele and loved the sound of the bridge pickup as it is very live and has massive "twang". I knew that one difference in the old an newer pickups is that the newer ones don't have the copper plated steel plate on the bottom. I measured the resistance of the vintage telel pickup and the GFS appeared to be the same and the paperwork claimed that it was exactly made with the same materials. For $32 I thought it was worth a try. It came just a few days later so I looked it over and compared it to my old pickup. It looked identical except that it wasn't rusty or beat-up! After installing it in the new Tele, I compared it to the old one. the sound was spot on! it had the same tone character, it was the same volume, had the same "liveness" and the same "twang". I am totally shocked that something that reasonable can be so perfect. I build botique amps and pay very close attention to tone and levels etc. So I was not expecting it to be so good. Try one out and you will be very happy f you are looking for a vintage sound. It's the GFS Vintage Tele bridge slightly hot model.
