Morning,
I've been looking locally for some nice wood for the top of my new Thin Line project. I just can't find anything that looks really cool. The Orange Tinted Thin Line that Jack Wells made is just beautiful, and that is the direction I am heading, only I want mine to be a bright Teal color.
Any suggestions on where to find some nice matched wood tops?
Thanks !

I bought this one from a Canadian eBay seller called "fine_woods (http://www.ebay.com/sch/fine_woods/m.html?_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1)". Usually has some interesting stuff for sale and always shows pictures of the actual piece for sale.

Fraser Valley Fine Woods has great stuff at decent prices. Their eBay store is "fine_woods" as davemac stated but they have a website where you can buy direct.

Here are two I did, one is a nice red clear birch board and the unglued one a clear white ash... Both on some 45 year old reclaimed pine.
The drop top is a black walnut board I split and put on, same methods this one is a quartersawn clear cedar body, no chambers so not a thinline....
SO a planer and a table saw and a nice 6-1/2" wide board is all you need...

I used western red cedar on one and its a great wood for a top. I have some leftover bookmatched pieces of this stuff. The color chnages depending on the lighting. The flash in the 2nd pic makes it look brown:

Then, there's the usual pretty maple tops (also have some pieces left of this):
