2010 American Std Strat value?gerry123 May 10th, 2012, 02:20 PM What is a reasonable purchase price from a private seller for a 2010 Candy Cola Am Std? Condition is excellent-no issues. Thanks braderrick May 10th, 2012, 03:31 PM A local guy was selling one that was like new with all the case candy and plastic still on the guard for 750. I've been wanting one in this color but I just can't do it right now. Rosewood or maple? I think rosewood/candy cola is the best looking color combo they have currently. Jakedog May 10th, 2012, 04:05 PM I bought mine in February. A 2008 Candy Cola with rosewood board. Outside of some light pickguard haze it was mint, with case, and all candy. I got it for $600. It was on the wall at the local GC for about four months with no takers tagged at $649, when I offered $600 they took it. Now, I think that's an amazing deal, but for whatever reason, MIA strats really aren't moving well in this area right now. I've seen them go as low as $550. Speaking fairly though, a new one is $1K. I think anything under $800 for a totally mint piece would be a fair deal. But definitely get it for less if you can. These are really beautiful. I bought mine because my very first strat was a 1990 Am. Std. in Midnight Wine/Rosewood. I have always missed that guitar, and have never been able to find areplacement for it that was in decent condition. When I saw the Candy Cola I thought "it's not gonna get any better than this". I'm glad I bought it, and would have paid a little more if I had to. D.Allen May 10th, 2012, 07:48 PM [QUOTE="Jakedog"]I bought mine in February. A 2008 Candy Cola with rosewood board. I need to hit up GC this weekend:-) Jakedog May 11th, 2012, 09:08 AM [QUOTE="Jakedog"]I bought mine in February. A 2008 Candy Cola with rosewood board. I don't know about other places, but strats are going cheap around here. Setyaback May 17th, 2012, 11:50 PM Strats sure are going cheap these days... There's an '06 american standard w/ ohsc priced at $650 on my local craigslist (minneapolis). Not to mention another american strat for $450 -- not much info included on that one, I'd venture to guess it's a recent Highway One. But that's still a nice deal! While I'm at it -- there's a MIM Jazz Bass w/ hard case for $130! People must be in a bad way these days. |
