Burying a decal over lacquer

I've got a neck I bought from a guy on ebay and the edges of the decal are still showing. He finished the neck in Guitar ReRanch Nitro lacquer, but didn't do a good job of burying the decal. What product is readily available (Lowes, etc) that I can use to put over what's already there to bury the decal? I would prefer brush or wipe on because I don't have a paint gun for my compressor.

And I know this has probably been asked a bunch of times, but I couldn't find it through search. Thanks for the help.

I'm guessing you could use deft, spray-can gloss lacquer. You should be able to find that at lowes.

Minwax or Watco lacquer.

I am not a huge fan of DEFT clear gloss, but for a headstock it will work just fine. Plus its available at Lowes.

If you have a benjamin moore shop around they sell Behlens, which is a better rattle can lacquer in my experience.

Is there a brush on that would level out without leaving brush marks?

No. I've never seen any lacquer that brushes well at all, not even for tiny touchups.
