Just joined a second band. Got a gig Saturday. Pretty standard set list and I've got it all covered, but he wants to sing (and play) Collective Soul's Shine in the key of A. As you know, it's in Eb tuning with a dropped Db on the bass E. How in the hell do I play the lead riffs in key of A in standard tuning. Capo at fourth fret? Man, I've been playing professionally for 30 years but this one has me stumped. Any help? Even if I bring a third guitar in the Collective Soul tuning, how do I play it in A. What the hell is the key signature of that song anyway?

I don't know how to play it, but this may help...well hopefully it does. At the bottom of the page you can transpose the chords to any key. Good luck.

Don't know if you got your parts figured out for the gig yet but...
For the lead riffs, you should be able to play those on the same frets (just on the fourth string) and let the open A drone (instead of the Db like on the record). Something like this:

You could tune EAEADF#. That way the intervals between the first five strings would be the same as the bottom five in drop-Db. Or you could bring a second guitar tuned way low: AEADF#B. I'd be inclined towards the second option, actually; I think that song would lose a lot without the the big heavy down-tuned guitar.
