Nocaster Dull Low E

Hi guys

Just replaced my saddles with Rutter's brass notched set about a month ago. All is well but my low E isn't as spanky as it once was, seems dull. I've tried adjusting the saddle but that doesn't seem to cure it.

My next thought is to simply change the string. (strings have been changed a few times since the saddles were replaced). If this doesn't work do you have any thoughts what the issue might be?

Maybe it's the notch! Have you tried the original saddle back on?

Not tried that...I'm saying that though but it was fine. Slightly confused as to why it's now dull though??

I felt the E & A strings weren't quite as snappy as the rest of the strings on my Nocaster. I went with Glendale compensated saddles using stainless steel for the E & A and brass for the rest. Problem solved.

Maybe the rest are snappier and the Low E is lagging behind so it seems duller.

Yeah all the rest are fine it's just the low E. I'll get my new strings today and check if that's it. Failing that I'll revert back to the original saddle.
