A&L - new pickguard

this is a little A&L i picked up on CL several years ago. paid $100 for this guitar with hard case! it really does play well. my daughter fell in love with it and basically commandeered it. recently i bought a pickguard for it.. ordered one from terrapinguitars.com. they were reasonable and quick...

I have purchased pickguards from Terrapin and found them a great place to deal with.

Is that a birch top on the guitar I see in that picture?

Looks like the cherry laminate top.

i have no idea what the guitar is made of... i do know they use cherry a lot with the seagulls.. wouldn't surprise me if skimballc is correct.

its an odd colored guitar.. i think they used some sort of dye to tint it.

I like it! And that dye and the shape of the guard has a certain retro vibe to it...

Maybe has a Kay/Silvertone vibe....but I'm sure much more playable!
