coreyman97 May 4th, 2012, 10:07 PM Just downloaded Vinnie's Power-Twang, which is his new DVD or download on the fundamentals of country guitar. He really does a great job showing how to master all of the tools. I've tried a couple of other country lessons but his approach, explanation and tabs are really top notch. I have no affiliation to Vinnie, other than trying a few of his lessons that led me to the dvd.

CharlesCapps May 4th, 2012, 11:21 PM It is a good website and Vinnie explains it well.

Big John, That's so cool. It gets me excited to hear stuff like this. Send me an update after the show, I would love to hear how it goes.
Good pLuck
ChrisMichael May 10th, 2012, 07:05 PM Does anyone have both Vinnie's DVD and any of Doug Seven's stuff? I have a few of Doug Seven's and really like his instructional style and I'd like to hear how Vinnie compares. Not looking for who's better or anything like that - just similarities and differences. I really like Doug's casual approach - I always feel like I'm just jamming with him.
empty May 11th, 2012, 01:14 PM I have both and like both. Doug is cheery and motivational but sometimes a little too chatty without content. Vinnie is pretty laid back but more focused on the task at hand. I think both production values are excellent but I give the nod slightly to Vinnie for editing and packing in lots of material. Doug's body of work is extensive and has both lick focused content as well as longer complete runs. Vinnie sticks to the licks. There is some duplicated material but I think that is to be expected. I think Doug and Vinnie's video's complement one another pretty well.
I'd like to see a time bookmark in Vinnie's tabs to let me jump to a specific tab. Trying to fast forward through 98 tabs is a pain. He may have this info somewhere and I'm missing it.
Hope that helped.

Hey Empty, You brought up an excellent point. I will get to work adding a time line to the tabs. Thanks for the input.
hobo mississipp May 12th, 2012, 09:02 AM I have Vinnie's new DVD. It is a value pack of "OK, here it is, now follow me". I'd like to say he is easy to follow, but of course it will take "me" much practice. I did have a problem with the guitar pro 6, but if you download the free TuxGuitar , it should take it the gp6. So you don't have to buy gp6. I have gp5, but it didn't take it. Any of you have the same problem?
Vinnie did a great job, I highly recommend the DVD to all of you here.
Thanks Vinnie
use this : http://www.tab-exporter.com/index.php?mod=index
this will take gp6 and put it into tux guitar
r.jones1116 May 14th, 2012, 03:11 PM Got the DVD download and have been working with it. Very inspirational and easy to follow. Between Vinnie and Doug Seven, maybe I'll be able to finally "Chicken Pick"
guitar dan May 15th, 2012, 02:07 AM Dont mean to derail the thread, but what guitar is he holding there?

guitar dan, The guitar started out its life as a late nineties USA Peavey Wolfgang. I really liked the asymmetrical necks on these guitar but it did not fit my playing style. I like Teles so I decided to modify the guitar so it was a hybrid. It has two horns, more like a Strat but it does not have the belly cut or arm contour like a Strat. It is basically a plank of wood like a Tele so why not convert it. Because it is highly modded I decided to unofficially call it a Peavey WolfTwang.
I did a thread a few months back detailing the project.

Hey Coreyman97, Thanks. It was a fun project. But in the end it probably would have just been easier to route a whole new body and slap that neck on it. Oh well....Live & Learn.

Hi Vinnie,
Have you done this to the DVD yet and does it allow you to navigate to each lick or section?
What format is the DVD in and is it HD quality?
Do you have any big sales coming up for the DVD or special coupon code offers?
Thanks, JD...
vincent July 17th, 2012, 12:30 AM Hey JD
I am not currently a vendor here on the forum so I don't think I can answer these questions directly. Please send me an email. Thanks
Vinnie
GeorgeB October 16th, 2012, 05:10 PM I have to add my praises to Vinnie's DVD sets...comes with lots of stuff...very detailed TAB and GuitarPro files with the Foundations package. Well presented and very to-the-point. Good guy to follow.
teleNtweed October 19th, 2012, 01:35 AM Just got the foundations and the solo builder downloads, really great stuff! Dove right into the "Teaser" solo and am making good progress in one night! So much meat in there. I like how Vinnie points out areas where things are generic and encourages you to use them elsewhere in your playing. Good stuff!
hobo mississipp October 19th, 2012, 03:41 AM Got the new solo builder also. Dig all 3 licks. Vinnie's laid back way of teaching puts you right in the same room with him. Also note that each lick is a bit different style of playing, not just country. And he's playing a bad a.. strat (blackie) on the last lick.
