I'd seen a few short videos that came form this film, but this is over 30 minutes long. A lot of factory stuff, Leo's custom Chris Craft, and a very young Chet Atkins at a trade show.

Don't be put off by the Asian writing on the site, or the commercial that will run first. It's a great video!

I never saw that whole thing. That wasn't Thumbs Carlisle...Thumbs was right handed. That guy played with Spike Jones. I have no idea who he was.

I've watched it 5-6 times and I'm still amazed by the hand craftsmanship. If you go to youtube one of the custom shop tours shows that the woman that was winding pick ups in 1957, was still there winding them in 2010. Amazing! I hear that many top players will only use PU she's done. I wish she had signed those PUs, would love to find an old one!

Yeah, the CS pickups wound by Abby Ybarra are pretty sought after. After all this time you have to figure that lady is pretty good at what she does.

Thanx bunches for sharing this amazing video. It's tough to watch these people working w/o respirators and no security provisions on the machines. It's fascinating how they managed all this tons of parts that didn't seem to be stored very efficient or logical. Now that I've seen this film, my love for Fender products got even stronger.

One of my buddies did a factory tour recently and captured her at work

This is a lot better than the previous one with the horrid blues guitar playing that someone recorded over it.

Very cool.
