Hi all Telecaster experts. I'm looking to buy a Telecaster and ones I've tried so far just don't have the neck I'm looking for.

I have a early 90s Squier Japan strat and I love the neck so ideally I would like something as close to this as possible (its also got a 7.25 radius and vintage wire). I've done the solder trick as advised somewhere on here to give me a profile. The photo shows the profile at fret 3 and 12.

Can't seem to get the photo to display so here's the link:

Would this be a U shape, or a fat C?
What Telecaster would be close to this? AVRI, 50s Roadworn?

I am trying as many guitars as possible hoping to find 'the one', but haven't been able to try the above two yet.

Thanks for reading,
G

From the pic it looks to me like a "U" neck at #12 that becomes more "C" shaped at #3. From the way you describe your current guitar I would say either a 52 AVRI if you prefer the fatter "U" neck or a Classic Series 50's (not a Roadworn) if you prefer a thinner "C" neck will be similar to what you have.

Both have 7.25" radius necks and both have vintage fret wire and a vintage bridge. A Roadworn is a different breed of cat with it's humbucker, medium jumbo frets, and six saddle bridge. To me it's like a more modern version of a 70's era Tele and not at all a 50's style instrument.

JMHO.
