So I have just been given a fender super 60 but the reverb does not work with my guitar but if I shake the amp I get the expected crash
Im pretty sure its a replacement tank as its a mod 4ab3c1b and these should accutronics?
And ideas are appreciated thanks

there's nothing wrong with a MOD tank - but yours is the wrong spec. The 4AB3C1B has a 10 ohm input impedance. The correct one will have 800 ohms. This may or may not be your problem. I would also check the cabling (perhaps a bad connection on the send side?

The stock tank is a 8EB2C1B. The type 8 is a short tank. If you want to go with a longer tanks - Type 9, or Type 4, use 9EB2C1B, or 4EB2C1B.

After reading your post I grabbed an 8eb2c1b out of the old parts box and hooked it up it seems to have very little effect
All the way up it's just barely a little splash behind the note.

sounds like it's something internal. Could be the op amp (the reverb in the Super 60 is not Tube driven), or other component in the send side. Given the guy loaded a tank with too low input impedance he could have blown something. The Reverb in these amps isn't overwhelming, but it is more than a splash, and since you say you hear more when you shake the amp something must be wrong. The good news is that the parts you're talking about are cheap (op amp is about 75 cents), but the bad news is it's a pain to replace them because the board is mounted upside down.
