Merle Haggart SignatureTele

I have an insignificant question about this guitar that i'm curious about. I'm not thinking about buying it, its WAY out of my budget! :) On the fender website it says that it has 'custom 4-way switching but it has the standered two tele pups. It seems that with three way switching all posible positions on a tele are covered, so what is the fourth position? The answer is probably simple and I'm just not picking up on it. Thanks for any replys.

It comes stock with Texas Specials which are three wire and they're supposed to be easier to wire to 4 way switching. From at least one video I watched of Merle playing his guitar, he changed at least the front pickup, and maybe both. Someone here local had one for sale for $3500, I didn't go look at it, I wouldn't want to put that much into a Tele.

If I remember right, Redd talked him into changing pickups when he was in Merles band. Don't remember what he changed to, but obviously Merle was impressed by Redd's conversion so he had it done to his also. I can't afford oneof these either but they are one classy tele!

Jake Jones pickups, but who knows what could be in it by now.

I can't afford one, but it doesn't stop me thinking about buying one!
