I have everything to build a Tele so a few weeks ago I put it all together. Allparts nitro V neck,2 piece pine body, Keystone pickups, cts pots, 4 way switch. I am after trying everything to get the guitar to play without buzzing. The body was a home build that I got on the Gearpage and the neck pocket was deeper then normal. Everything about the guitar is good, plays fine sound perfect but can't dial in the setup.
I think I am just going to get a Fender body with the proper neck pocket size and angle and put everything in it. I am after looking on Ebay at alot of bodies CV, MIM standard, Baja, Nashville, Highway 1. What would be the better bodies to look at for quality? What would you stay away from? Thanx

The bodies you list are all good quality, but I'm not sure off the top of my head what bridges fit all of these. Otherwise things should fit.

Something to consider, if the body you have has a flat neck pocket that doesn't tilt one way or the other, you could either glue in a piece of wood, or make a spacer. I've got one that was in similar condition. I made a spacer out of a piece of aluminum, polished the edges, and gave it a dose of lacquer to keep it from discoloring. To anyone that doesn't know better it looks like a custom touch rather than a recovery from a botched router job.

Yeah. Shim that thing. It'll be just fine.

Thanx, I already tried the shim/spacer and it was still not right. I put together quite a few partscasters and this is the fisrt time I ever had this much trouble.

The neck pocket should be 5/8" deep all the way around. Does the neck have any relief when tuned to pitch? Maybe the truss rod is tight and that is causing the buzzing? Is it really humid there? Allparts necks are pretty decent right out of the box but you might need to get the frets leveled too.

The neck pocket is almost 3/4 inches deep. I know the neck is perfect fret wise due to the fact that I have owned it for a few years and I just took it from another body and it played perfect the full length of the neck on the previous body.

post some pics for a start
just need to step back and analyse what is going on here before you go spending moolah on a new body

take a few measurements and compare to guitars that are playing good
also post back here with pics and measurements you made

we would want to see the height of the strings above the fretboard at fret 1 and 12 for a start

worst case you may have to cut and glue a new floor in the pocket and reroute it to the correct depth -

bit early to give up yet
