Elias Graves May 2nd, 2012, 02:10 PM I've been reading up on Nocaster wiring and I like it other than the "dark" switch. Is it possible to just leave the .047 cap out and have the neck only position behave as the bridge only position, wide open?

Secondly, if using a humbucker neck (actually a mini in my case) could one sub 500k pots + a resistor for the bridge pickup? If so, what value resistor?
If my thinking is right, you'd get:
1. Bridge wide open
2. Bridge+neck with blend
3. Neck wide open
Sound right? Anyone tried it?

Is a three way super switch not the same as a regular three way?

Right, a super switch allows a lot of things that you can't do on a typical selector switch. I haven't seen a three way super switch before. Interesting.
Elias Graves May 2nd, 2012, 03:07 PM Aha! With enough googling.....

Elias Graves May 2nd, 2012, 03:08 PM And this one just uses a rgular pot doesn't it? Cool!

Looks that way. Definitely the more elegant solution. Looks like it's a basic three way setup, but the neck pickup has a separate volume control in the mid position. Cool.

Sure , or do what I did on mine as I thought that was WAY to muddy.
Put a .022µF cap there instead. I was even going to try a .01 but then when to the modern wiring anyway.

Or, just scroll down on the page where those 2 drawings are next to each other.

You can also add a fixed tone to Position 1 in this setup so that the Bridge pup isn't so bright, if needed.

There's a guy on ebay who sells them.

Search for 3-way super switch if that auction changes.

I thought they looked like your drawings!

Don't think I'd ever use one, but cool to know they're out there. I'm not a fan of the three way blade.
Phostenix May 2nd, 2012, 08:35 PM For those who want the Nocaster Neck blend functionality AND a Tone control (and don't mind having a 3rd knob), I've added a couple of drawings to the library:

That's 'cause you haven't put my 3-Way Splender in a Strat.

Yes, I was running 500k pots originally in a standard tele setup so the wouldn't be tto dark. I added a 220k ohm resistor on the bridge pickup to tame it some.
I'm in the process of doing this one now

Gonna stick with the 500s at first to see, but I have a 470k ohm resistor for the bridge. I'm guessing that going through a single 500k is gonna be pretty shrill.
The neck humbucker will go through the single 500k in position 3, so I'll have to see if that one needs tamed any. I have a few other resistors on hand to try just in case.

You have some really cool schemes on there. I'll probably end up trying a few of those before it's all said and done.
This is my first tele and I'm having a lot of fun checking out the different setups.

That sho is purdy!
Elias Graves May 5th, 2012, 10:30 PM Thank you. OK, the blend setup is in.
Now it's coming out. :) It works fine, but it's not for me.
Gonna try something different.
