Outside being cut down, how original is the amp?

Also is the output transformer and 2x10" speaker impedance matched?

Hey! Fezz has one like that.

If it's good enough for Fezz...

Tough to call value on something like that. It sounds like you're leavin' it for the next guy.

It may be an amp pieced together from a couple amps. You need to know what you're lookin' at on a nuts and bolts level.

If I got a really good deal on it I'd finish what they started and make it a Fezz replica.

Wow and wouldn't that be a Sweet Amp!!! Oh man I want one now. Someday.... dang.. ya, an old Super Reverb cut in half would be about perfect.

That amp is rough...look at the number of bends in the faceplate. At the right price, I would be curious enough to take a look to see what OT is sitting in the amp and how much work has been done on it. IF it had a 4-ohm Bassman OT and the circuit has not been messed up, I would buy something like that....for the right price. IF it had hte original OT, I would not be put off of the amp, but I like a match most of the time....so I would be looking to put a 2X10 extension cab with the amp to get to the 2-ohm load. IF a person wanted a lower output, then the smaller BAndmaster/Vibrolux REverb/PRo REverb OT would be ideal.
IN short, I wouldn't walk away from this amp until I knew exactly what was there.

Considering how Fender used the same chassis for a bunch of different amps I'm suprised they didn't offer one like that.

The basic Super Reverb chassis was used for

Super Reverb (go figure!)

Vibroverb

Bandmaster Reverb

Bassman 10 (same chassis, less holes)

Considering the common "too loud, too heavy" complaint regarding Twins a 2x10" Super Reverb makes perfect sense. I'm not gonna chainsaw one in half but I can make an already hacked one look and act OEM.

Doesn't Fezz run his with JJ6v6s and a 5v4 rectifier? If I'm thinking right the 6v6s would be a match for a 4 ohm speaker load?
Where the heck is Fezz today anyhow?

Yes me too. A Super on two 10s with the original OT sounds like krap. Early flubbiness and not good flubby at that. Well, it's not a Super anymore anyway.

I have one of those.

I'm wondering about the best way to market it. Craigsllist is tempting becasue I really don't want the hassle of shipping the amp.

This one has all 4 CTS speakers and the transformers are all original. Caps are modern. Power tubes are TAD's.

It has a Tuki cover and a nice custom made 4-wheel dolly.

Ed that amp looks good. I would not ship that either. I'd say $900 range on craigslist if you want to sell it.

Ed, I would say $900 if I were close enough to you to buy it!!!! IF that one is as original on the board as the rest of it is and if it has been recapped and serviced, $900 is a bargain, imho. Has the grille cloth been replaced???REcapped? What year is it?

Wally, you're the MAN!

It's a 69. $900 is what I was afraid of because I really think it should fetch $1100 (about what it cost me 5 years ago).

Grille cloth is original, caps are modern - I think the recap was done about 2004.

The bias balance has been replaced with bias adjustment. I don't know if there was more "blackfacing" done, but it seems very stock and sounds like it should - fantastic.

Right now, the preamp tubes are E-H and sound pretty good. I have some vintage USA and British tubes that I could put in if it would improve the value. The rectifier is a Weber Copper Cap, but I've got a spare 5AR4 that should go in before I advertise it.

The good news is that I'm not in a big hurry to sell.

cool amp sir. looking at ebay ( yeah i know not the best way to get stats but its a start )
you can def tell when the economy fell to the floor. all the high selling vintage stuff drop in value in a hurry. like you said your not in hurry to sell. good luck.

the forum just got so slow for me for some reason. sigh/ guess ill go pratice my scales. Im a noob yup :)

From the look on eBay, you can fetch $1000 at best for that. I've got exactly the same amp except the tube chart inside reads "black face" specs and so do the tubes. Apparently a pre-CBS "black face" Super Reverb are more wanted. Some folks are real picky for likey reasonable reasons...to them eh. $800 to $1000...depending on who wants it bad enough. I paid $1000 total for mine so...??? Some man's trash is another man's man's treasure type thing.
