Fender steel bullet strings

OK, I finally put a set on my tele, the nickel-plated set.

And I really like them.

I'm almost embarrassed to say this, since I have heard nothing but bad about them. I like the way they feel, the way they sound, and my top E string is staying in tune. So far.

I've been through almost everything else, including SOS and the new cobalt slinkys. These just work.

Anyone else have this experience?

I just put on a set. I don't care for them and I am not that particular. Many years ago I used them and liked them. They were just hard to come by. I am glad they are good for you. Everything about gear is so subjective. It takes a lot of experimentation and trial and error to find your personal favorites.

I never cared for them personally. They died too soon, never felt right and I had a tendency to break them (Ernie Balls as well). Was much younger then though, so who knows now; been using D'Addario's since the early 90's.

I liked them okay for a spell, but had far too many breakage issues. I should note that I've never had consistent breakage issues with any other brand I've tried except Fender strings; in fact it is extremely rare that I break strings period - again, with the notable exception of every Fender set I've ever tried.
For the last couple of years I've been using GHS 10-46 (sometimes 10-48 or 10.5-50 depending on the guitar). Before that I was mostly using DR strings. I started out 20 years ago using D'Addarios, but they're not my fave - they're certainly usable, I just didn't care for them that much. I never like Ernie Ball strings either.

But you know what? If it works for you, that's all that really matters isn't it?

Yeah, I use the Fender Pure Nickel Bullets. Like the OP said, everything about the feel, sound, and tuning keeps them on several of my guitars. For my Esquire, which I string .08-.40, I use these Billy Gibbons/Dunlop Rev. Willy Mexican Lottery Brand strings. They are really good, and stay in tune under all sorts of abuse. They don't sound thin or feel weak, which a lot of .08 sets tend to do after a short bit. Really fantastic strings. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the responses. I figured I'd get the cross section.

As I said, it's only been a day, so I'm still on my honeymoon.

I'll post more later.
