Which side of velcro is on your pedals?

It seems like a lot of people put the loop side of the Velcro on the pedalboard, but I have the hooks on the board and loops on the pedals. It just makes it easier to use the pedals that way if they're off the board. Just curious, which side of the Velcro is on your board, and why do you have it that way?

Wow, this may actually be a new topic of debate here.

Don't have enough pedals in regular use to justify a board, but on some used ones I've bought, it seems like the hook side has been on the pedals.

Loops on the pedals here... at least I think. You get better tone that way!

Loops on the pedals - hooks on the board. As mentioned above, better tone! And when you accidentally kick them off the baord when doing the splits, they don't stick to your speedo!

Now who could argue with that logic:roll:

That's funny... I asked the same question when I was putting together my GORM pedalboard and the most responses were "hooks on the pedals" ... since then I have bought a couple of used pedals not minding if they already had velcro... and they had the "loop on the pedals"...

Don't know which side is considered the hook and which the loop but the soft part is on my board and the scratchy part is on my pedals. LOL

A lot of boards come with the loop type material already on there. Mine did. So I put the hook side on the bottom of the pedals.

+1. No doubt about it. When you reverse this your pedals sound out of phase.

I put my velcro on top of my pedals. Who needs to look at all of those knobs and switches anyway?

Scratchy side on the the pedals because the pedalcase comes lines with the fuzzy side.

I use the hook side on my pedals because theres more loop side than hook side in the box I bought.

I do the scratchy-side-on-pedal method. I have a few used pedals that came that way.

A bonus is that my church has a carpeted band area and I can arrange my pedals on the floor and they stick.

I put the hook side on my pedals so that if I want to go jogging around the area I'm playing in at the time, I can hook the pedals to my leg hair and be gone!

Oh yeah, I can do that with my back hair. I am working on a bald spot on my head though.

I use the "dual lock" type of velcro, so... it doesn't matter which side I put where, because there's only one side.

I was gonna say on the inside of my pedals - that way no one could see it.

But there's enough stupid answers here already, including mine.

i like the soft stuff on the board, it wears out faster than the scratchy stuff and needs to be replaced more if you move your pedals around a lot.

Northern hemisphere or Southern?

I once heard a guy say all his pedals fell off when he toured down under because he had not switched over the hooks and fur.

Put the hook side on your pedals, cover your board in carpet. Use the loop side for a Groucho costume.

As for which side, just make a decision and go with it. It doesn't matter. If you wan't the possibly of buying used pedals that are already velcro'd, put the hook on the pedal. Maybe save yourself some time because that's what most folks do. No big deal either way.

As many have mentioned, my pedal board came with a fuzzy carpet on it, so I put the hook/scratchy side on the pedal. Any time I have purchased a pedal with velcro on it I have been fortunate that they were the same.

I used to put the hook side on the bottom of my shoes but I kept sticking to the carpet.
