Just wondering. I'm having trouble playing the swampy riff between verses while talking/singing like the recorded version. Might just slam a chord there for a measure or two, then pick back up on the swamp riff. Anybody do it differently?

It's a cagey song, I agree. I found I could do only an approximation. I'm glad we don't play it anymore

It's hard to play syncopated parts while singing. One thing you can do is divide the offbeat quarter notes into two eighth notes, the first falling ahead of the beat and the next on the beat. Once you can play that while singing you can work on tying them back together.

If you could play Jerry Reed tunes without any trouble, I am pretty sure you would be some sort of super human.
