Hey !

I'm looking for a 12" speaker that sounds like the Emi Swamp Thang
but with a bit more high freq. definition... The problem is that I'm not
ready to let go any bass if you know what I mean...

Thanks !

Philippe

The only speaker I can think of that outperforms the Swamp Thang at both ends of the spectrum is the Electro-Voice EVM-12L. It's much heavier and more expensive.

If you have the watts to drive it, a less efficient alternative is the Delta Pro 12A. The top end is brighter than the Swamp Thang and it's exceptionally smooth. You'll just need another notch on the volume to get it to the same loudness.

Or you could turn up the treble and/or presence for free.

It just barely fits.

Ok, I just check this out and both the Swamp and the Tonker
have about the same response graph. Would you mind to tell
me the characteristic (sound wise) of both ??

I really like the Swamp Thang and I could not imagine my blues Jr
with an other speaker but if the Tonker is the same speaker with
a bit more high... in the facts, the ST and the Tonker shares the
same magnet weight, same voice coil size, same cap size, etc...

Thanks for your help !!

I'd say "Tonker" as well. It is a brighter Swamp Thang for sure.

X2 on the Delta Pros. I have a 2x12 with DP's in it. I run it with my 5e3. There is no shortage of volume. I think they are the best speaker Eminence makes.
