Would this work as a finish ?

Ive been looking at finishes for the body for my about to be assembled guitar and was talking to friend who works as a decorator and he swears by this stuff

It might work, and it might not. Guitars are meant to be touched, played, arm draped over the body rubbing the finish etc. Houses just sit there looking pretty. You could always try it and see....but paint typically used for houses won't generally hold up under the heavy use a guitar can get. imho.

thanks for the input its only an idea at this stage , i was thinking of using it for staining the body and covering that with several coats of laquer

but i'lll more than likely go the traditional route of finishing the body instead

Rather than lacquer I suspect you'd have an easier time topcoating that with a water based acrylic.
