Picked this up on Tuesday ( along with Jack White's mega - badass " Blunderbuss " ). I would give this album a B- for a grade ( and I am a huge Dandy's fan ). It would have been a solid B except for the train - wreck cover of " 16 tons." Very dark tone throughout the entire album. Definitely the type of album meant to be listened to as a full album and not just singles. If you are a Dandy's fan, you will be happy with this album. If you are looking for an introduction album to the band, this is not the album to initially purchase ( try " Welcome To The Monkey House " ). This cut is quickly becoming my favorite. Co - written with David J of Bauhaus / Love and Rockets fame. That little riff is very, very Bauhaus. I put this album in my " reading a book and drinking a cup of coffee on Sunday morning " listening rotation.

The Dandy Warhols love almost everyone...

I have two problems with the album. First, Taylor sounds like he is phoning his vocals in. Second, the songwriting by other members of the band is weak compared to Taylor. Maybe they felt it was time to release something... the problem is that there is very little to savor. Oh well. I give it a C because it is simply average.
