Can someone clarify this?

Did Fender Japan make a 62 re-issue or is it technically called a 60's re-issue? I have what I thought was a 1986 Fender Japan 62 re-issue, however someone informed me that Fender Japan did not make a 62 re-issue back then, it was called a 60's re-issue. Could someone please clear this up?
