ever since i bought the guitar new back in december,i have had this issue.when i put new strings on the guitar (i make sure that they are properly on the grooves of the string tree e.t.c).well after playing guitar then cleaning it/fast fret.the next day the strings are double noting (9-42's).
it's the high e and b strings and i can mostly hear the problem when fretting 5th fret up to the 12th.
i have asked this question on other forums also, but would be interested in your thoughts (i do plan on taking the guitar back to shop sometime to let them check it out,it's just that i'm lazy
thanks in advance

You are describing as double noteing? But it sounds like the pickup(s) might be too high and grabbing those light gage strings.
Good luck with your solution,
Rob

thanks for replying.the pickups are quite low although the treble side bridge pickup is higher (at a guess just over 3/4 of a cm) the action is medium.have kept guitar as it was since i got it (not adjusted anything).i feel that a trip to the shop will be the answer (as i'm pretty useless when it comes to anything to do with adjusting e.t.c on my guitar
EDIT i just changed the strings (after cleaning the guitar also).the 2 high strings were double noting as i was tuning to pitch (standard tuning).they sound like a sitar type noise :?:
i will visit the guitar shop on thursday to ask their advice (get the guitar checked.

This is probably a nut problem. If the slots are too tight you will get this problem. Take it to a technician and have it adjusted. You might want to get a new nut put in if it doesn't cost much more as it would be of a better material. On the other hand, if you bought this from a shop they should fix it for free.
