Hi. I'm wanting an amp with a vintage tone, but with modern reliability. I'm wondering... could I replace the speaker in a Fender Pro Junior with a 10" vintage Jensen from a Silvertone amp? Would that be possible to do electronically, and if so, would that give me the vintage tone I'm talking about?
Thanks for your input. Don't know much about amp electronics.

I don't know that speaker but do have an older PJ and put a Celestion V-50 in it. Very easy, mine was a solder joint(s). I think ya gotta remove the upper back panel, simple as it gets. Just don't run solder on the speaker!
You do need to match speaker ohm rating, thinking 8 ohm but away from my PJ right now.

If the speaker ohms are right, if it'll handle the wattage of your amp and if it fits. Try it.
Vintage tone ? Heck I have some vintage amps and I don't know if thay have vintage tone.

If you want a vintage amp with modern reliability contact a member here MuchXS. He's building tweed clones. I have tried one but I am hearing great things from others who have.
