Ugliest Bass

I have seen some ugly basses but I think this is the ugliest bass I have ever seen. Yes even more ugly than the Gene Simmons axe. Got one to beat it? I want to see,

Too easy! I've often wondered why basses are so susceptible to being uglified! Even a cursory Google image search unearths a plethora of horrors!

I built this from scratch about 8 years ago. I thought it looked cool at the time... but it got ugly pretty quick.

Okay. I'll play. Here's a strange looking bass and another pic to accompany burn 08's Millennium Falcon bass:

There is another catagory of being so ugly it`s cool. I think the old telecaster bass of Dusty Hill (ZZ Top) with the left hand neck fits into this one.http://ts2.mm.bing.net/images/thumbnail.aspx?q=4901077913830477&id=3eba8cb9c3832f6eca06878efebb967f

Since you think it's cool, you should definitely buy this new Custom Shop offering (http://products.fendercustomshop.com/it-IT/products/search.php?partno=0158602899).

Street price is only $4800!

Nothing ugly about this bass. The CS model is horribly overpriced, but so cool. Might have to Warmoth one together at some point.

Because the OP thought it was so ugly it's cool. He doesn't need a reason for his opinion.

And it is. Dusty has a few of them that are really beat up. The man's got style.

boogerroogerI guess its one of those eye of the beholder situations. Personally in regard to aesthetics I prefere the tuners & headstock to be in alignment with the upper horn.

But nonetheless I stand by my statement that it is one cool bass. Take care. Bob

Sometimes I think the dude(s) at Wishbass couldn't make a nice looking bass if you held a gun to their heads.

http://www.joshuaalmond.com/bass/3wishes.jpg

They look like cheaply varnished driftwood, and a trussrod is an optional extra (no kidding).

Also, I can take a good level of 'ugly' from a bass if it is functional. The new Fender Pawn Shop basses are not even functional as the neck access is reduced and the strap button is banged in behind the 16th fret to keep the thing even vaguely stable.

Everything looks upside down on that Pawn Shop version ( body included ). It reminds me of the Epiphone Thunderbird

but I like that one.
Those Wishbasses are what I`m talkin about. Just plain UGLY. Take care. Bob

Screw some legs on the underside, attach some pedals, tune one neck to E9 and the other to C6, and you may have something there...

Wow these are all terrible (except for the ZZ one might I add).

When I saw the thread I had this in mind and couldn't find it then I had an epiphany: what if I searched google for "cool bass" sure enough it was on the first page

Once upon a time I had a link to a site, Bunny Bass or some such, that had 20+ pages of odd, unusual and more than a few ugly basses. I lost the link years ago. I'm not sure the site exists anymore. Anybody know what I'm talking about or have the link to share?

Bunnybass is long gone but thanks to the Wayback Machine you can still see their gallery of horrors: http://web.archive.org/web/20070113060233/http://www.bunnybass.com/e-zine/amusing/amusingindex.shtml
